Best of 2021: I have God to thank for one of my top tweets last week

🌲 I won’t be online the week of Dec. 20, so I’ve scheduled some “best of 2021” posts (aka reruns), similar to what I did in July. These are ones that got the most views or nearly so each month from August-December. I hope you enjoy!

Please make sure to vote in December’s $50 donation poll to help decide which cause I’ll donate $50 to for December, and explore the rest of the site. Happy holidays! 🌲

I’m not a religious man, to say the least. I recently donated $25 to the Freedom From Religion Foundation — a state-church separation watchdog — thanks to the votes of readers of this blog. My point of view is the world would be a better place if everyone who has religious beliefs didn’t try to impose them on the rest of us.

But credit where credit is due. One of my top 10 posts last week was inspired by God. Or rather, something The Good God Above wrote. The Twitter account, that is.

I was worried at first people would react negatively not realizing I was joking. Thank God that didn’t happen. (Ok, enough with the god jokes, lol.)

But the point behind the joke stands: whatever your religious beliefs, there isn’t another back-up planet we can move to if we continue to destroy this one, and time’s a-wasting. We need to convince our politicians — volunteering or donating to organizations like The Sunrise Movement is one way — to actually do something before things on Planet A get worse for us and future generations.
