Doomtweeting

Everyone knows what doomscrolling is, I think at least — looking at tweet after tweet on your timeline (feed, etc.) and getting more and more depressed as you see more and more depressing news.

Is there a word for doomtweeting? Posting “We’re all doomed!” tweets over and over? If not, then I would like to claim doomtweeting™️ as my own. I do more of that than some people probably, but recently I think I’ve hit peak doomtweeting levels.

Here are some recent examples that seem to have resonated with (or further depressed) people who read them. Do you agree with any of these? Disagree? Agree to disagree?

On that cheery note, I’m going to be out of town for the rest of the week, so I hope you have a good Thanksgiving, Native American Remembrance Day, or both, depending on what you and your loved ones are doing. I’ll be back on Monday with more, plus don’t forget to vote in the $50 donation poll (link below)!

🚨 Which cause, organization, or show will readers pick to receive a $50 donation for November? You can vote to help decide here.

Before you go, please explore the rest of my site, follow me on Twitter, and come back for new posts on my blog Monday through Friday.
