‘Classic’ post: Jeff Waldorf’s Around the Nation gets January’s $50 donation!
For this week’s second “Classic Eclectic” post (aka repeat blog posts while I’m out of town), here’s the most-viewed post from February.
Jeff Waldorf’s Around the Nation (ATN) was the top vote-getter for the 1st ever poll for the $50 monthly donation from eclecticmisc.org. Visitors to the blog who voted picked ATN out of eight other choices that month. If you haven’t seen ATN yet, you should check it out or read on!
🚨Speaking of the monthly poll, don’t forget that June 30th is the last day to vote in this month’s (June’s) monthly poll to decide which progressive cause or organization will get a $50 donation from http://eclecticmisc.org.
Here’s the post!

I’m happy to announce that Jeff Waldorf was the top vote-getter for January’s $50 donation from eclecticmisc.org!
Jeff’s “Around the Nation,” the main show for Waldorf Nation, is part of the TYT Network. ATN has over 150K subscribers on YouTube. Jeff, who is also a member of TDR’s #DragonSquad (as Acid Dragon), also just recently started broadcasting on Twitch as well, both for the streaming the show and gaming.
I came across Jeff’s show as a suggestion on YouTube a couple of years ago, shortly after seeing his tweets during #TYTlive (the hashtag for live-tweeting during The Young Turks) — either a happy coincidence, or an unusual case of YouTube’s mysterious algorithms actually working *for* a progressive news source instead of against it.
In addition to great commentary on the news Monday through Friday, he’s had a number of guest commentators on, including Cenk Uygur, Ron Placone, and Ana Kasparian just this past Friday. If you haven’t checked it out yet, here’s Ana’s appearance on ATN:
I love Jeff’s take on politics because, as he describes himself, he’s “a voice for working people”, and it’s not just a slogan. His commentary is definitely from a progressive point of view, but his take and analysis about the news bring different angles than you can find elsewhere — it’s not just another version of TYT or TDR.
If you haven’t seen the show yet, you should definitely check it out — 4pm Eastern Time / 1pm Pacific Time, and consider joining me in becoming a member on his Patreon and following him on his YouTube channel and Twitter.
Thank you to those who voted! Here are my receipts (literally!) about the vote and donation. You can comment below or subscribe by email to eclecticmisc.org, where I post several times a week about what’s happening in the news, about TYT (my most-viewed post so far), and about other “miscellaneous” things. Congrats, Jeff!
