34 new followers?!? #FollowFriday
I found a graphic with some purple on it, in honor of John Iadarola’s new purple hair (keeping his promise of dying his hair purple if TYT/TDR got 1000 new gift subs in a day).
It’s #FollowFriday again! And this week I had 34 new followers!
I feel so fortunate to be getting more and more followers. I’m getting to interact with more people and know them better. I’m getting a wider variety of tweets on my timeline.
34 people in one week is so unbelievable, I miscounted at first and thought there were only 31, so the tweet thread I sent out had the wrong number (but I was not going to post 10 tweets again to correct it!). I’m sure blue checked Twitter users might get 30 followers in a day (or even an hour), but for my ragtag Twitter account with fewer than 1.5k followers, it’s not bad.
And it probably means that these new followers must have liked at least one thing — my profile, a tweet, the $50 donation poll — if they bothered to follow me. Hopefully it means I’m making some positive contribution to “progressive Twitter” at a time where there’s a lot of negativity — which can sometimes be productive, but a lot of it recently has not (understatement of the year).
